The retreat
Meditation retreats are offered in the beautiful forest in the hills above Baan Tai, on Koh Pha Ngan, Thailand. This section and the FAQ have all the information you want to know about the retreats. The rest of the website has information about the Center itself, Buddhism practices, and resources.
English-language 10-day Samatha meditation retreat is held on the 10th to 20th of each month
Registration is in person only on the first day of retreat; there is no pre-registration. Registration begins at Khao Tham on the 10th of the month at 8.30am, and closes 11am on the following day.
Please contact Tookata for status of retreat, and for details about retreats and the Retreat Center.
The retreats are taught and managed by experienced meditation teachers at no charge. All meals and accommodation are provided (and a donation is needed to cover those costs).
Our teacher for retreats is Phra Dr Marut Damchaom, a Thai Buddhist monk and Buddhism teacher.
Monthly English retreat
A ten-day retreat in English is conducted from the 10th to 20th of each month.
There is no online or pre-registration. You must register in person at the Khao Tham Meditation Center from 8:30am to 4.00pm on the first day of the retreat (10th of the month).
Monthly Russian retreat
A retreat in Russian language is conducted when we have a translator, who will interpret all instructions and teachings.
This retreat will follow the same schedule as the English retreat.
Other retreat sessions
Occasionally we will have a longer retreat, or a shorter one, or a separate retreat. Please check for notices on the Home page and on @KowThamCenter at Twitter, and also contact Khao Tham.
Retreat break
Occasionally we will have a month with no retreat, or with a private retreat, to give the staff a rest. Please check for notices on the Home page and on @KowThamCenter at Twitter, and also contact Khao Tham[/drg_ink], before finalising your plans for a retreat.
